About The Event
This event is hosted on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the W̱SÁNEĆ people and the Lekwungen people, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. The organizing team at QVic Life is made up of settlers, and we acknowledge our complicity in colonialism, even as we work to build community amongst queer and trans students at UVic. Many of the sexualities and gender identities we think of as under the LGBTQ+ umbrella are colonial concepts that have done harm to Indigenous peoples.

Come kick off the new semester with us and meet up with friends new and old! LGBTQ+ students are invited to hang out with us in our section of Felicita's and play some card and board games, or just chat with friends. Look for the rainbows and come say hi! Felicita's will remain open to the public, but we have a section booked just for our group where QVic Life peer leaders will be on hand. You are welcome to drop by anytime between 7 and 9pm! (folks are of course welcome to stay later, but we will be officially hosting until 9pm)
For this event, the washrooms inside Felicita's will be made gender-neutral, and we have asked for a lower level of music and consistent lighting level. Felicita's is located in the SUB and is wheelchair accessible. seating in Felicita’s is a combination of booth, high top and chair/table seating. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help make this event accessible to you, or if you have any questions/concerns!
This event is 19+ with ID required as it is hosted inside Felicita's Campus Pub. If you are under 19 and looking for some LGBTQ+ social space, check out our friends at QVic, located in residence!
